Meadow Feeds Pietermaritzburg – Mandela Day 2014

Meadow Feeds Pietermaritzburg staff visited Thandi House, a home for abandoned, abused and orphaned infants as well as the Sobantu Village Old Age home.

Thandi House
Sister Carpenter, Julliet Naidoo, Simon Zondi, Khombi, Thulani & Sphilele visited Thandi House, taking their favourite meal – Macaroni & Cheese, ice-cream and fruit juice. One of the little boys had never had ice cream before! As soon as their meal had been placed on their table they all closed their eyes and sang grace – a truly touching scene.

Before and after lunch the Meadow Feeds staff spent time playing and chatting with the children. They then settled down to a short treat of watching the DVD “Barney” before their afternoon nap. They are such a happy, loved group of children, who love to have visitors.

In addition we donated 200 nappies for the nursery.

The centre relies on sponsorships and donations to exist. They currently have 15 children and often they have up to 30.

Sobantu Village Old Age Home
Meadow Feeds staff visited the Sobantu Village Old Age home and gave the few ladies that are living there some care hampers which brightened their day.
